Hulk agent – No Chelsea contact

The agent of highly-rated Porto forward Hulk insists he has not spoken to anyone from Chelsea over a potential move and expects the Brazilian to stay at the club.

Speculation over Hulk’s future has continued to mount since the transfer window opened, with the striker having been continually linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Big-spending sides Paris St Germain and Anzhi Makhachkala are also thought to be chasing the frontman but the £83.5million buy-out clause in his contract is thought to be keeping any serious bids at bay.

The 25-year-old, who is contracted at the Estadio do Dragao until 2016, worked under Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas during Porto’s Treble-winning campaign last season and has said he would be open to a move if the right offer came along.

But his agent, Teodoro Fonseca, does not expect Hulk to leave Portugal this month, insisting there has been no contact with the Blues.

He told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo: “The player isn’t preparing to leave Porto because he is happy at the club.

“I have not spoken to anybody from Chelsea. Villas-Boas knows the footballer and Porto well.”

Fonseca says he receives enquiries over the Brazilian on a daily basis but claims the only serious bids that have been made came last season and were rejected by the player.

“Every day I receive calls from agents but the only serious offers we have received were three last season, offering him a better salary than at Porto,” he said.

“But Hulk rejected them because of sporting motives. He is not just interested in money but challenges on the pitch.”

Hulk’s agent knows the forward is unlikely to stay at Porto too much longer, with so many clubs thought to be clamouring for his signature.

“I admit Hulk can’t stay at Porto forever,” he added. “That is football and at the moment the clause in his deal is decisive.”
